FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and Animal Control were called to the scene of a property that faces Grade Road, near Keepsake Drive and Tice Road Wednesday morning.

We have just confirmed from our crew on the scene that one miniature horse and one donkey have been spotted dead on the property.

The owner of the property spoke with our crew, and we're told the Sheriff's Office and Animal Control were on the scene for hours Wednesday morning. The owner tells WHAG that DNR and animal control saw large dogs prints on the scene. We're being told some sort of animal killed the miniature horse and donkey overnight. The owner told WHAG her dogs started barking late last night, and she thought at the time it could have been bears in the area.

The owner also told WHAG that this is not the first time these attacks have happened. Just last week, two miniature horses were found dead in the same manner on another property nearby.

Berkeley County Animal Control is currently trying to pin-point other owners in the area, and are discussing the possibility of wild-life cameras being set up to catch what is happening overnight.

WHAG's Kirstin Garriss will be talking with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and the Berkeley County Animal Control throughout the day.

Stay with us on this developing story.
