Names Released in Deadly Crash on Woodsboro Pike

State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Woodsboro Pike Thursday afternoon.
UPDATE: Maryland State Police CRASH Team have released the names involved in the fatal collision on Woodsboro Pike.

The driver of the Ford F-350 was Michael E. Shoemaker, 46. Police say the deceased driver of the Jeep Patriot was Henry C Mathias, 41. There were also two other passengers inside the Jeep Patriot, Brenda L. Mathias, 40 and Brady J. Mathias, 17.

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - 
Investigators with the Maryland State Police in Frederick County are investigating a deadly car accident that happened Thursday afternoon on Woodsboro Pike.

Officials said the accident happened at 4:24 p.m. just south of Nicholson Road in Keymar.  Officials said a Ford F-350 and a Jeep Patriot were both overturned when they arrived on the scene.

Investigation revealed the Ford F-350 was traveling southbound when for some reason, the driver crossed the center line, hitting the Jeep Patriot.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead on the scene.  The driver of the Ford F-350 was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries. 

Police said Woodsboro Road was closed for several hours following the accident as they investigated.  No names have been released.
