Commissioners to Seek Judicial Review on Nursing Homes Sale

County commissioners voted to sell the nursing homes to Aurora Health Management back in June.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - The city of Frederick’s Planning Commission is reviewing a sub-division application that would allow the county to sell the land that Montevue Assisted Living and Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center nursing homes sit on.

County commissioners voted to sell the nursing homes to Aurora Health Management back in June.

County officials say as of August 1, 2013 Auora has been running the facilities. Now, commissioners are looking to sell Auora the land the facilities sit on. Blaine Young, president of the Board of County Commissioners says the Board of Appeals has remanded the application, and says the city’s Planning Commission will take another look at the application.

The land lays in the city’s jurisdiction and county commissioners say they will now seek judicial review in court for the sale of the land.
