Water Main Break Leaves Residents Without Water

The repair took about six hours and residents were able to use their water by midnight.

CUMBERLAND, Md. - The City of Cumberland Water Department had an immediate emergency shutdown Sunday on Race Street as crews worked to repair a water main break.

The city said it was impacting residents on the 400 block of Race Street and said this is the third water main break in the area this week.

City officials say the cold temperatures are causing the pipes to crack. The repair took about six hours and residents were able to use their water by midnight.
