FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police Harrisburg Barracks have released the name of the man who died on Monday following a standoff with police in St. Thomas Township

State police say they attempted to serve an aggravated assault warrant on Philip E. Rank, 47, of St. Thomas, Monday morning in the 500 block of St. Thomas Williamson Road. Police say Rank was armed and barricaded himself inside the house.

As we reported on Monday, Troopers and members of the State Police SERT team were able to secure a perimeter around the home. They say negotiators tried to get Rank to surrender, but were unsuccessful. During negotiations, Rank disregarded commands and fled the house with several firearms. Members say they shot him as he approached the perimeter of the house.

Pennsylvania State Police are not releasing any further information at this time. The incident is still under investigation.
