Plane Crash Lands at Manassas Regional Airport

A small plane crashed and overturned Thursday morning while attempting to land at Manassas Regional Airport.
MANASSAS, Va. - A small plane crashed and overturned Thursday morning while attempting to land at Manassas Regional Airport. 

The single vehicle engine Cesna 172 crashed on a runway just before 9:30 a.m. The pilot was the only person aboard. He was not injured in the crash. 

There's no word yet on his identity or a possible cause of the accident. 

Firefighters had to contain a fuel leak shortly after the crash. Less than ten gallons of fuel actually spilled. 

Manassas Regional Airport is popular with private planes and helicopters. Other runways at the airport were able to remain open.
