FREDERICK, Md. -- Four people have been arrested in Frederick in connection with an armed robbery, kidnapping, and police chase.
Hailee Lynn Baker, Najee Dawson, Darryl Cooke and Jarrell Smith are all facing charges. Baker was charged with fleeing and eluding, the other three were charged with robbery, kidnapping and first degree assault.
They are accused of forcing a man out of his car in the area of 16th Street around midnight Thursday and then forcing him, against his will, back to his apartment in the 800 block of Stratford Way.
The victim eventually got away, and all four suspects were taken into custody after a chase.
"Our detectives are working through information received not only through witnesses but from victims, those types of things. We're trying to put all that together. That's part of the investigation," said Lt. Clark Pennington, with the Frederick City Police Department.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police helped Frederick City Police with the chase.
"We're very thankful for the cooperation that we have, not only with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office but the Maryland State Police," Pennington said. "It's due to that cooperation and that good working environment that we're able to work through all of these investigations together and come to a successful conclusion."
Anyone with information or who may have seen anything along 16th Street of Stratford Way is asked to call Frederick City Police at (301) 600-TIPS (8477).
