Police Investigate Attempted Robbery at Dollar General

It happened around 10:40 a.m. at the Dollar General located in the 200 block of Winchester Avenue in Martinsburg.

BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in locating a man who they say attempted to rob a local dollar store Monday morning. 

It happened around 10:40 a.m. at the Dollar General located in the 200 block of Winchester Avenue in Martinsburg. 

According to police, the man entered the store and demanded money. He didn't display any weapon. They say he was not able leave the store with any cash. He was last seen fleeing the area in an unknown direction. 

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20's. He was last seen in a black coat, tan or gray pants, black beanie cap, sunglasses and black and white scarf. 

Attached is video footage of the suspect located at the BB&T on Winchester Avenue, just before the attempted robbery.
