Police Investigating I-81 SB Homicide

Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate a homicide that happened on Interstate 81 Soundbound early Saturday morning.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA - Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate a homicide they say happened on Interstate 81 Southbound on Saturday morning shutting the roadway down for several hours. 

Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. near exit 3 on I-81 Southbound.

The victim, Timothy Davison of Poland, Maine, 28, was traveling Northbound when he reported to 9-1-1 that he was being pursued by a Ford Ranger style truck.

Davison indicated that the driver of this truck was firing a weapon at him. The driver than rammed Davison’s vehicle and forced him into the median.

Police say after Davison’s vehicle became disabled, the driver approached Davison and fired several rounds at him. Davison was transported to York Hospital where he later died.

Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police and Maryland State Police had I-81 shut down for several hours while they were investigating the scene.

The suspect is still at large. Police say the suspect’s vehicle is a blue Ford Ranger style truck with damage to the driver’s side. If anyone has information please contact, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg at (717) 264-5161. This is an ongoing investigation.
