Police Looking for Bank Robbery Suspect in Short Gap

MINERAL COUNTY, WV - The Mineral County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who robbed a bank in Short Gap.

The Sheriff's Office and the West Virginia State Police responded to the First Peoples Credit Union near State Route 28 around 10 am Friday morning for a report of a bank robbery.

The sheriff's office says a man entered the bank armed with a knife and demanded money.

Police say he fled on foot to a wooded area behind the bank. They believe the suspect fled the area in a vehicle that was parked nearby.

Maryland State Police and Aviation Units also responded to the scene.
