PSP Warn Residents After Elderly Women Targeted for Robberies

Pennsylvania State Police investigators are warning community members after they say four recent robberies victimized elderly women in Franklin County.
Franklin County, PA - Investigators with the Pennsylvania State Police are reminding residents to remember to lock their doors and asking community members to check on their elderly neighbors following four recent home invasions where the victims were elderly women.

Police said there are similarities in the crimes that make them believe they are connected.  The victims were all women, ages 82, 73, 73, and 84 years old.  Police are not releasing specific addresses, but said the crimes happened on Buchanan Trail East in Antrim Township, Wayne Highway in Quincy Township, Leitersburg Pike, Antrim Township, and Gearhart Road in Greencastle.

In each incident, police said the actor entered the home by force or through an unlocked door.  When he encountered the victims, he demanded money.  In several incidents, police said the man gave verbal threats.  None of the victims were injured, but the man stole cash and jewelry.

Police also said the incidents are believed to be linked to two similar robberies that occurred on December 22, 2013, also under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.

The man involved is described as a white male with a small to medium build, about 5'4"-5'7" tall.  Police are asking anyone with more information to contact them at 717-264-5161.
