Residents Lend Helping Hand at Annual Blood Drive

Folks gathered in Waynesboro, Pa., on Thursday to give blood for a good cause.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Folks gathered in Waynesboro Thursday to give blood for a good cause.

The American Red Cross partnered with the American Legion Post 15 to do their annual blood drive. The drive started at 11 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.

This is the 15th blood drive and organizers say the turn out this year was great.

"It's not me, it's all the people that come in support. It's the volunteer staff the American Legion provides, the facility, food, everything," said Jack Duffey, blood drive coordinator.

American Legion Post 15 has been the number one post in the entire state of Pennsylvania for blood donors for 15 consecutive years.
