Riford Resigns from Washington CVB Position

After serving as President and CEO of the Hagerstown Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau for nearly ten years, Tom Riford is switching jobs.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - After serving as President and CEO of the Hagerstown Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau for nearly ten years, Tom Riford is switching jobs.

"This has been a great ten years. The last ten years of tourism in Washington county has seen phenomenal growth. We have been a successful organization," said Riford.

Although Riford says he's sorry to go, he believes the Convention and Visitors Bureau is in good hands.

"And it's in terrific shape! Finances are in order. We've had ten years of financial audits with no discrepancies," Riford explains.

But not all good things come to an end. Even though Riford is leaving his position, he says he is excited about a new career opportunity as the next Vice President of Homewood.

As for Riford's replacement, the search begins in the new year.
