Routine Traffic Stop Turns into Cocaine Bust

Upon investigation, officers learned Renee Carlisle was in possession of crack cocaine and a smoking device.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A routine traffic stop turned into a drug bust late Monday night in Frederick. 

Members of the Frederick City Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting surveillance in the area of West South Street when they observed a suspicious vehicle.

Upon further observation, officers say they saw what they believed to be someone smoking a controlled substance. 

After their investigation, police say they learned that Renee Carlisle was in possession of crack cocaine and a smoking device.

She was arrested on drug charges and taken to central booking.
