MARTINSBURG, WV - All week long Senator Manchin has been traveling all around the state.

He stopped by the Berkeley County Senior Center to talk about how he's standing up for West Virginia in Washington Friday.

Manchin says, "As a West Virginia Democrat I've got to represent the people of West Virginia to make sure their concerns and needs that would help this country are heard. Right now a lack of energy plan, a solid financial plan, how are we going to jump-start this economy and get it moving again, and get people working again."

He went around the room meeting each person at the luncheon. He also took time to answer questions and concerns. Many West Virginians have been weary of paying higher gas prices than those in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

"There's so many things that can be done, but with an energy policy which I've been very critical of this administration for not having a solid energy policy," said Manchin.

Manchin had a packed day of campaign stops including visits to Shepherdstown and Charles Town.
