Single Vehicle Accident on I-70

A single vehicle accident on I-70 westbound sent two people to the hospital Saturday morning.
FREDERICK, Md. - Troopers from the Frederick Barrack responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate-70 westbound, west of Maryland Route-75. It happened Saturday morning after 12:00 a.m.

The driver, Marshall Dokes, 24, of Winchester, Virginia was driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra when he drove off the roadway and struck a tree. Dokes was injured and transported to Meritus Medical Center.

The passenger, Marlena Maddox, of Winchester, was also injured and flown by MSP helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

According to the press release, speed was a contributing factor in the cause of the accident.

Interstate-70 was closed for a short time while the investigation continued.
