Human Remains Discovered in Jefferson County, West Virginia

Skeletal remains of a human were found on Thursday in Jefferson County according to county officials.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, WV (WHAG) - Skeletal remains of a human were found in Jefferson County, according to county officials.

Sheriff Peter Dougherty says around 12:00 Noon, a group of hunters came across the remains in Harpers Ferry along the Shenandoah River.

Deputies helped transport the remains to the State Medical Examiners Office. Sheriff Dougherty says the remains are at least 4 years old.

This is an ongoing investigation, as officials wait for the autopsy results.
