Highlights and Reaction

Smithsburg - 72

New Town - 75

The game saw four major runs, two from each team. Smithsburg jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter. New Town answered with their own run to go up 34-32 at the half. The Titans continued that run at the start of the second half, before the Leopards roared back. But New Town made the final run a winning one, and came out on top, winning 75-72.

A key moment in the fourth quarter was when Senior Point Guard Tyson Pierre fouled out with less than four minutes to go in the game. Smithsburg had 21 turnovers, an uncharacteristic number for this senior-laden team. Jordan Fortson had 23 points in the loss, and Trent Springs had 20. The Leopards finish their season at 20-6.
