South Fork Bridge to Undergo Major Makeover

The South Fork Bridge in Front Royal, Virginia is getting ready to undergo some major restorations.

Front Royal, Va. - The South Fork Bridge is getting ready to undergo some major restorations.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has contracted Landford Brothers to patch up the bridge over the next two weeks.

Patching is scheduled to happen at night time and drivers should be wary of traffic delays at all times.

The bridge, built in 1941, is part of Routes 340 and 522, and is one of the only ways in and out of Front Royal.

The patching is a temporary fix however, as the VDOT has hired Wagman Construction to rebuild the entire bridge.

That construction has already begun, and is expected to take several years before being completed.
