FREDERICK, Md. - It's only two days until Christmas, but that doesn't mean people are close to done with their holiday shopping.
A steady line of customers came into Dancing Bear Toys and Gifts in Frederick Monday afternoon. Some of them were finishing their holiday shopping but others had just started it.
"In a toy store, the last-minute shoppers primarily are looking for stocking stuffers, so what we'll do is we'll increase the supply of small items, things that will fit inside of a stocking," said Tom England, co-owner of Dancing Bear.
Many of the popular last-minute gifts this year include yo-yos, slinkies, and Etch A Sketches.
"Everything has been fantastic this year," England said. "With respect to the last-minute shopper, we sell a lot of smaller things, such as believe it or not, bubbles. We go through a ton of bubbles for the stockings."
The owners say turnout this year for last-minute shoppers is very heavy, but it's more spread out than in previous years.
"It's been really, really busy, it's coming in spurts," England said. "Last year, I remember it was a huge, huge rush all in one day, but this year, the day before Christmas Eve, it's very manageable."
England says they have lots of inventory and staff on hand for last-minute shoppers on Christmas Eve, a rush they expect to be chaotic.
