Suspects Detained in BB&T Bank Robbery

It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the BB&T Bank on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says they've detained three adults, a man and two women, in connection to a bank robbery on Wednesday morning.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the BB&T Bank on Buckeystown Pike in Frederick.

"The information that we found was that a single white male walked in to the bank, prepared a note at a counter, walked over to the teller and displayed a note. The teller handed over an undetermined amount of money. The robber implied he had a weapon, but did not display a weapon and left the bank," said Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins.

Investigators say they worked with deputies to gather suspect and vehicle descriptions. The information was passed along to the Sheriff's Office P.A.C.E. team members, who canvassed the area.

The team was able to locate a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle at a Frederick motel. Investigators also observed a man matching the description of the bank robber exit a motel room.

The man and two women he was traveling with were taken into custody and all three were detained for questioning at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center.

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation says they're currently working to obtain search and seizure warrants for the motel room and vehicle.

The sheriff's office says the male suspect was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. They say they do expect to charge him.

The investigation is ongoing.
