Suspects Still at Large in Gentleman's Club Shooting

Berkeley County Police say suspects are still at large in an early morning shooting that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries on Thursday.

MARTINSBURG, WV- In Berkeley County, police say suspects are still at large in an early morning gentleman's club shooting on Thursday that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Now, they are hoping the public can help them to identify the gunmen.

The gentleman's club was full of commotion, early Thursday morning. Police said two people clung to life, after shots rang out in the middle of the club.

"People were still inside, there was chaos everywhere. Everyone was trying to get out of harms way. That's why additional officers were called in from the other jurisdictions, to help us, the state police and Martinsburg city police," said Sheriff Kenny Lemaster, of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Lemaster said the shooting happened around 3 a.m. at the Legz Nightclub along Aero Street in Martinsburg. He said a male patron and a female employee were the ones who were shot. He said it was more than one person who started trouble.

"There were several individuals together, one of those individuals did the act of shooting. We are just looking for any witnesses, who saw them leave," said Lemaster.

A case that had many eyes watching, both witnesses who were at the club and surveillance technology.

"We are getting cooperation from the owner of the establishment, as far as video and information that they have, so we are still trying to put it together," said Lemaster.

The deputies were on the scene for several hours, and the shooting remains under investigation.

The names of the victims have not been released. Anyone with information is asked to call the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office at (304)-267-7000.
