Tanning Salon Robbed in Front Royal

The incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Beach Bum Tanning at 50 Riverton Commons.
WARREN COUNTY, Va. - Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff's Office are investigating a robbery at a local tanning salon in Front Royal. 

The incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Beach Bum Tanning at 50 Riverton Commons. 

An employee reported to police that a man entered the business claiming he was the new maintenance worker. While the employee was distracted, the suspect opened the cash drawer and took an undisclosed amount of cash, as well as a wallet. He left the scene on foot in an unknown direction. 

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5'9"-5'11", thick build and sandy hair. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans. 

Deputies say the Warren County Sheriff's Office canine was called to the scene to determine a route of travel. The investigation revealed that the suspect may be operating a dark colored sedan. The sheriff's office is also investigating some suspicious activity at the Walmart inside the Riverton Commons shopping center that happened just prior to the robbery at the tanning salon. They're working to see if the incidents are connected.
