HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Were you turkey enough to get up and out Thanksgiving morning? More than a thousand runners participated in this year's Turkey Trot at Hagerstown Community College.
"It's nice. Everybody's cold but everybody's having a good time," says Derreck Herbst, a turkey trotter.
Many say the 5K race is considered a Washington County tradition, while also benefiting students at the College.
It's also a tradition for families who enjoy a good morning workout.
"We do this every year. My daughter started it, she's ten. Every year we try to beat her score from last time," says Todd Anderson, a turkey trotter.
"Here to visit family. Great to get out and get some exercise do something early in the morning to kick the day off," says Herbst.
A day stuffed with thanks, giving, and a little running before enjoying delicious plates later.
