FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation have charged two people in connection to the bank robbery Wednesday morning in Frederick.

It happened around 9:34 a.m. at the BB&T Bank on 5825 Buckeystown Pike.

Investigators say the bank robbery suspect has been identified as Timothy S. Halsey, 43, and one of the two women that was with him has been identified as Keisha M. Butler, 35, of Libertytown.

According to investigators, Halsey entered the bank shortly before 9:30 a.m. and presented a note to the bank teller, implying he had a weapon. The teller gave Halsey an undisclosed amount of money. He then fled the store.

Criminal investigators worked along with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office to obtain suspect and vehicle descriptions. The information was passed along to P.A.C.E., Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement, who canvassed the area. Within an hour of searching the team found a red Buick, which matched the description of the suspect vehicle at the Econo Lodge on Francis Scott Key Drive in Frederick.

Members say a short time later they spotted Halsey exit the motel room. Halsey and two women he was traveling with were taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center for questioning, according to investigators.

During a search, Halsey and one of the women, Butler, were found with cash in their possession believed to be from the robbery. Butler was also found to be in possession of suspected cocaine. Investigators say they seized the cash and narcotics as evidence. After questioning, Butler was arrested and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. The other woman was questioned then released.

Halsey reported to investigators he was having a medical issue. He was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to police. They say Halsey will be arrested once he's released from the hospital.

Halsey is charged with robbery and theft between $1,000 and $10,000, while Butler is charged with possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30 crews executed a search warrant on the motel room. On Thursday, investigators plan to search the vehicle. The investigation is currently ongoing.
