Two Elementary Schools on Heightened Security, Robbery Reported Nearby

School officials say both schools will be dismissed on time.
LAVALE, Md. - Cumberland City Police say two local elementary schools were on heightened security Wednesday morning in LaVale, Md., because of a robbery in the area.

Police say
Parkside Elementary and Cash Valley Elementary School were on lock-down as a precaution due to a recent bank robbery. 

School officials say both schools will be dismissed on time. 

Allegany County Public Schools sent out a phone alert through the metro area notifying the public of the "lock-in" situation.
