Two People Badly Burned after SUV Crash in Boonsboro

Deputies say a sport utility vehicle hit a fire hydrant head-on, then flipped and caught fire. Deputies say the man driving the SUV, and female passenger, suffered third-degree burns.
BOONSBORO, MD - The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a serious car crash left two people badly burned with life-threatening injuries. Deputies says it happened at 6 Sunday morning on Shepherdstown Pike at Crystal Grottoes.

Deputies say a sport utility vehicle hit a fire hydrant head-on, then flipped and caught fire. Deputies say the man driving the SUV, and female passenger, suffered third-degree burns.

The man was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma and the female was taken to Meritus Medical Center.

Deputies say the driver is a 21 year-old male, and the SUV is destroyed but are not releasing any other information at this time.
