Update: Hagerstown Police Identify Homicide Victim

Investigators with the Hagerstown Police Department are releasing more information about Friday morning's homicide.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hagerstown Police Department is releasing more information about a homicide that happened along the 200 Block of South Locust Street shortly before 11:30 Friday morning.

Police have identified the victim as 20 year old Everette Wade of Hagerstown.  Police said he was shot once in the torso, and collapsed in the area of East Baltimore Street shortly after being shot.   Wade was taken to Meritus Medical Center where he died from his injury.

As of Friday night, investigators had not identified a suspect, but said the shooter is believed to have been wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident.

"After this it will continue to be ongoing, the detectives will meet with people, they'll process the crime scene. I'm not sure where they're at with leads right now but we certainly encourage the community, the public to call us if they know anything," said Lt. Rebecca Fetchu with the Hagerstown Police Department.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and are encouraging anyone with information on what happened to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at 301-790-3700.  A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.
