Update: Identity Released in Deadly Crash on Route 30

Officials are investigating a deadly accident that happened Monday evening on Route 30.

FRANKLIN COUNTY Pa. - Investigators with the Pennsylvania State Police have released the name of the man who died in a serious accident Monday evening on Route 30. 

Troopers said the crash happened around 5:35 p.m.
 near the intersection of Route 233 and Route 30, on Lincoln Way East.  Officials said a 2001 Kenworth T800 was driving in the left westbound lane, and an 2009 Nissan Rogue, traveling at a high rate of speed was driving directly behind it in the same lane.  Police said the accident happened when the Nissan tried to pass the Kenworth in front of it, and hit the rear passenger side of the vehicle before losing control and hitting a guard rail.

The driver of the Nissan, Pedro Ramirez Serrano, 48, of 
Fayetteville, Pa., died on the scene.  According to the release sent out by state police, Serrano did not have his seat belt on. The driver of the Kenworth, George W. Sluss, 47, of North Tazewell, Va., was not hurt in the crash.
