UPDATE: No Criminal Investigation for Man Killed

A man was killed in a police stand-off on Monday. The DA says all troopers involved were "absolutely" justified under the circumstances.

ST. THOMAS, PA - A police stand-off on Monday resulted in the death of the suspect.

The Franklin County District Attorney says no further criminal investigation is necessary.

The DA says all troopers involved were "absolutely" justified under the circumstances.

It started when troopers tried to serve an arrest warrant to Philip Rank, 47, for an aggravated assault charge.

Police say he refused to surrender peacefully, and instead barricaded himself with weapons inside his house in the 500 block of St. Thomas Williamson Road.

After some time, they say Rank ran outside armed with several guns. That's when police took him down.
