UPDATE: Police Chase Ends In Serious Crash

Police say three people were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a police chase in Frederick County that ended in a car crash.

FREDERICK COUNTY, MD - Police say three people were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a police chase in Frederick County that ended in a car crash.

State Police say the suspect is a 27-year-old man from Pennsylvania.

His identity is not being released as he has not been charged yet.

Troopers say the suspect took off around 7:30 p.m. in Carroll County after he was pulled over for having expired tags.

The chase continued into Frederick County during which police say the suspect tried to hit two troopers with his truck and also sideswiped a state police car.

The crash ended when the suspect crashed his truck into a car on Old Annapolis Road in Libertytown and then hit a tree.

Police say the two people inside the car were treated for minor injuries and released from Frederick Memorial Hospital.

The suspect was seriously injured and flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

No troopers or deputies were injured in the chase.

The investigation is ongoing.
