UPDATE: Two injured in Hagerstown crash

A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to Meritus Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
HAGERSTOWN, MD. – Wesel Boulevard was closed in both directions for hours on Wednesday afternoon after a pick-up truck ran a red light and struck a motorcycle.

The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. just outside the entrance to Lowes. 

The male motorcycle driver and a female passenger were both transported from the scene to be treated at Meritus Medical Center.  Hagerstown Police say the woman was taken to the intensive care unit to be treated for life-threatening injuries while the male driver was reported to be in stable condition. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
