VA: Minchew Wins Republican Primary With Just Over 80 Votes

Three Republican candidates for Virginia's House of Delegates fought to represent the party in the newly formed tenth district.
VIRGINIA - It was a  tight race in the primary elections in Virginia on Tuesday.

Three Republican candidates for Virginia's House of Delegates fought to represent the party in the newly formed tenth district.

Randy Minchew won the election with 40 percent of the votes.

Even though Minchew won, it was only by a two percent margin over John Whitbeck.

Minchew received 1,193 votes. 1,106 people voted for Whitbeck and he had 38 percent of the votes.

The third candidate was Cara Townsend, who received 22 percent of the votes.
