HAGERSTOWN, Md. - In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, volleyball players at St. James traded in their usual maroon and white for pink uniforms Thursday.

The team says they were volleying for a cure and raising awareness about breast cancer.

Players wanted to celebrate the lives of survivors, those currently fighting breast cancer right now, and of course, remember those who lost their lives to the disease.

Many of them say they have personally been affected by the disease.

"This is important to a lot of players on our team," said Sophie Abeles. "I know a lot of players are related to survivors as well as people who are fighting it right now."

The team collected donations at the door to benefit the Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley.
