Waynesboro Man Sentenced in Fatal DUI Accident

A Waynesboro man will spend several years in state prison after pleading guilty to two counts of homicide by vehicle.
CHAMBERSBURG, PA - The man who caused a double fatal car accident while driving under the influence on New Year's Eve has been sentenced to serve time in state prison.

Agustin Macias-Marquez of Waynesboro pleaded guilty to two charges of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.  He was sentenced to serve three and a half to seven years behind bars.

Investigators said the accident happened just after midnight at the intersection of East McKinley Street and Cleveland Avenue in Chambersburg on December 31, 2012.  Macias-Marquez failed to stop at a stop sign, and crashed into a vehicle with three people inside.

25 year-old Heather Coble of Shippensburg was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital shortly after the accident.  Another passenger, 24 year-old Madison Perry of Shippensburg, died in January at a hospital.
