Western Maryland Blues Fest Looking for Feature Artist

The City of Hagerstown's Western Maryland Blues Fest committee is looking for their 2014 poster artist.
HAGERSTOWN, Md.-- The City of Hagerstown's Western Maryland Blues Fest  committee is looking for their 2014 poster artist.

Every year the Western Maryland Blues Fest (WMBF) committee and the Washington County Arts Council (WACAC) look for an artist with a creative piece to represent their festival. The original winning piece will be featured on posters, t-shirts, and other promotional material.

The winning artwork is also raffled off to help raise finds for the Blues fest.

"In addition to having their original work featured everywhere on all kinds of promotional materials for the Blues Fest, the artist will also have a chance to exhibit his or her other works in a special gallery show at the Arts Council in June," said Mary Anne Burke, Executive Director of the WCAC.

Burke said it is a great outlet for any artist to share his or her talent with the community.

WCAC is asking for any visual artists to submit up to three images of original artwork by November 15, 2013.

The 19th Annual Western Maryland Blues Fest is scheduled for May 29, 30 , 31 and June 1, 2014.

For more information about artwork submissions, visit their website, or call (301) 791- 3132.
