Wildlife Photographer Captures Eyes of the Nation

I've been interested in and done outdoor photography for most of my life," said Ron Lutz, a wildlife photographer.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Seeing the world through a glass lens has been his passion for as long as he can remember.

"I've been interested in and done outdoor photography for most of my life," said Ron Lutz, a wildlife photographer.

With his camouflaged camera the size of a major telescope, Ron Lutz of Hagerstown has captured the beauty of wildlife, nature and landscape.

Now, one of those gems is capturing the eyes of the nation.

"This image called 'Red Fox Family' won a contest in Popular Magazine called 'Your Best Shot.' It's a magazine distributed nationwide and worldwide in many other countries. So it's quite a unique opportunity to win that contest," said Lutz.

Lutz especially enjoys wildlife photography, which lead to his national first prize.

However, Lutz testifies that capturing the image of wildlife is anything but easy.

"I look for unique opportunities. Especially with wild life. Anybody can get a portrait photo. But one where there's action like eating or doing something unique," said Lutz.

Lutz says his prize winning photo was a special opportunity that many don't get in a life time.

"One was kissing here, they were nursing, and the opportunity with the photograph with the light being good that morning made it a unique opportunity that you don't get very often. Many don't get this opportunity in a life time," Lutz said.
