Winter Weather Alert: Bryan's Thursday Evening Forecast: 1/2/14

Winter Weather Advisories, Wind Chill Advisories & Wind Advisories are in effect for most of the area over the next 36 hours. Meteorologist Bryan Schuerman has the details in his forecast for Thursday Evening January 2nd, 2013.

Winter Weather Alert: The National Weather Service has issued quite a few weather alerts with the winter storm and extreme cold in the forecast over the next few days...

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect through Midnight Tonight for the following areas:

In Pennsylvania: Adams, Bedford, Franklin, Fulton and Somerset Counties
In Maryland: Allegany, Garrett, Frederick and Washington
In West Virginia: Berkeley, Western Grant, Hampshire, Jefferson, Morgan and Western Mineral
In Virginia: Frederick, including the City of Winchester

2 to 4 inches of snow is possible across the area, with a coating to 2 inches possible in our southern zones, and 3 to 6 inches of snow in the higher elevations through Early FridayMorning.  Travel conditions will be hazardous as the snow accumulates tonight...

Wind Chill Advisories have been issued for all counties South of the Mason-Dixon Line and Somerset County, Pennsylvania from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday. Dangerously cold wind chills are anticipated with wind chills of 0 to -5F possible everywhere, with -5 to -15F possible above 1000 feet in elevation.

Wind Advisories are also in effect for the entire area South of the Mason-Dixon Line from 2:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday.  Behind this cold front the winds will become gusty with sustained winds of 20-30 MPH, with gusts as high as 50 MPH.

Tomorrow (Friday): Mostly sunny skies and brutally cold. Wind chills below zero for most of the day, for most of the area.  High: 16-21.  Winds: Northeast 15-25 MPH with gusts as high as 40-50 MPH. 

Tomorrow Night: Mostly clear skies and cold.  Low: 5-10.  Winds: Northwest 5-10 MPH.
