Woman Arrested After Stabbing Man with Box Cutter Knife

It happened in the 100 block of Mt. Jefferson Street at an apartment complex in Harpers Ferry.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jefferson County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman Tuesday night after they say she stabbed a man in the head with a box cutter knife.

It happened around 6:30 p.m in the 100 block of Mt. Jefferson Street at an apartment complex in Harpers Ferry

Deputies say Anna Mae Shipley, 50, got into a verbal argument with Gregory Lamont Tucker, 43, at the residence. Deputies say they were called to the scene to diffuse the situation and talked with Tucker in the front yard.

After law enforcement left, deputies say Tucker went to enter the apartment and Shipley would not let him back inside. The two proceeded to agrue again inside the residence, at which time Shipley got a filet knife in her left hand and box cutter knife in the other.

Shipley then took the box cutter knife and stabbed Tucker on the side of the head. Deputies say Tucker tried to remove the knifes from Shipley and cut his left hand in the process. Tucker was able to escape out the front door and call police.

Tucker was found by law enforcement in front of the apartment building bleeding from the left side of his head, behind his ear and left hand. He was taken to an area hospital where he received five stitches in his hand.

Deputies found Shipley extremely intoxicated at another address around 7 p.m. Tuesday on
Mahoney Drive. She was arrested without incident and charged with malicious wounding. She's currently being held at Eastern Regional Jail.
