Woman Flown to Hospital After Crashing into Two Trees

Deputies say the call came in around 3:30 p.m. in the 19300 block of Porterstown Road.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office have released the name of the woman who was flown to shock trauma Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident. 

Deputies say the call came in around 3:30 p.m. in the 19300 block of Porterstown Road. They say Michelle Krantz, of Mills Road in Sharpsburg, Md., was driving uphill past Toyer Road, and for unknown reasons lost control of her pickup truck, crashing into two trees.

A National Park Service Ranger assisted EMS with stabilizing Krantz while she was being extracted from the vehicle. 

Krantz was flown to shock trauma in Baltimore. As of 6 p.m. Thursday, her condition was unknown. The roadway was blocked until 5 p.m. Thursday evening. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
