Woman Taken to Hospital in I-70 Accident

Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack says one woman was flown to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after her vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.
FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack says one woman was flown to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after her vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. 

It happened around 2:39 p.m. on Interstate-70 eastbound by mile marker 61 in New Market, Maryland. 

State Police say the woman was driving her blue Honda CRV down the interstate when her vehicle ran off of the right side of the roadway. Witnesses tell police they saw the vehicle run off the roadway and collide into a guardrail, and slide for about 250 yards. 

Police say the vehicle traveled up a small embankment before overturning onto its roof. 

State police say this is an ongoing investigation, and the woman's name is not being released at this time. 

One lane of I-70 eastbound was closed for about an hour an a half while the scene was being cleared and investigated by troopers.
