Penn State Running Back Silas Redd will transfer to Southern California. Redd is the 2nd Player to transfer from Penn State. Redd was the starting running back for Penn State and ran for over 1,200 yards last season. Redd will have to years of eligibility left. According to reports, former Linganore Running Back Zach Zwinak is in the mix to replace Redd along with converted wide-out Bill Belton.
The Suns fall behind early in route to a 4-2 loss against the West Virginia Power. The Suns are now 1 game behind West Virginia in the SAL North Standings. The Keys win 9-4 on the Road against Lynchburg and the Winchester Royals defeat Woodstock 5-1 to sweep the series, 2-0, to advance to the Lineweaver Cup to face either Harrisonburg or Waynesboro.
Federal Little League loses, 16-7, to New Jersey in the Tournament of State Champions. Ian Selby hit a Grand Slam in the 4th inning in the loss. Federal is now 0-2 in the tournament and will face New York tomorrow.
Hagerstown PONY 13 lose 16-6 to Tamiami, FL. With the loss, Hagerstown is eliminated from the PONY World Series. Hagerstown was only down 6-4 after scoring 4 runs in the 6th inning. Tamiami responded by scoring 10 in the 7th to put the game away. Hagerstown finished 2-2 in the tournament.
Martinsburg's 10-11 Little League loses to North Carolina, 15-1, to go to 0-2 in Pool Play. They will face a team from South Carolina in the last pool play game. Martinsburg lost to a team from Columbus, GA in the first game.
PONY 13s win 15-7 to eliminate Tijuana, Mexico. They will face Tamiami, FL at 10:00 EST. Hagerstown must defeat Tamiami twice to get to the Championship.

Clear Spring Little League defeats Hagerstown National 13-0 in 4 innings to win the Maryland District 1 Little League Championship. Clear Spring advances to the Maryland State Tournament; which will be played in Brunswick, MD.

Frederick Keys' relief pitcher Eric Beaulac has fought of multiple injuries throughout his career. Beaulac injured his hip in 2010 and the reason for the injury was something he did not expect.
Former Mercersburg Academy product Josh Edgin has been called up to New York Mets. He will be in the bullpen Friday night. Edgin is a 2006 graduate of Mercersburg Academy. He started the season in AA Binghampton.
Steven Souza Jr. is honored as the SAL Player of the Week. Souza Jr. hit .333 this past week with 12 RBI's, 5 Home Runs and 4 doubles. The Suns went on to come back to defeat Greensboro 4-3 for their 7th win in a row.
Brunswick defeats Westminster 7-0; they will face Frederick Nationals in the Winners Bracket Finals. In District 1, Valley eliminates South Mountain 12-2 in 4 innings, and will face Clear Spring Thursday. In Virginia, Winchester wins its opening game in the 11U State Tournament, defeating Rockville 15-0. Winchester will face Williamsburg Thursday at 5:30.

Federal's 9-10 Little League team won the MD District 1 Championship and is headed to Waldorf, MD for the State Tournament. They were at the Suns game Friday raising money to help with the kids stay at the state tournament. They raised over $500 on Friday Night.
