David's Friday Forecast 2/17/17

Chilly start but mild by the afternoon to start a spring-like weekend.

4-State - It’s finally Friday! Good news for spring lovers like myself- this chilly morning will be the last one we’ll see for quite a while. We’ll stay chilly this morning with temperatures in the 20’s but not nearly as windy, but don’t worry-warmth is on it’s way! High pressure will shift southward today, leading to mostly clear skies and dry conditions as well as temperatures warming above normal with highs near 50. As high pressure continues to slide south tonight it will lead to south wind kicking in. That south wind will skyrocket our temperatures into the 60’s by tomorrow afternoon-where they will stay even into Monday. We do have a slight chance of light rain for areas in northern Virginia late night Saturday and into Sunday morning but other than that we remain sunny and dry till our next chance of isolated showers arrives on Wednesday. We are expecting a short lived “cool down” back to the lower 50’s on Tuesday as a back door cold front sneaks into the region but temperatures return back into the 60’s by next Thursday. So bottom line- go out and enjoy the sun and warmth this President’s Day weekend!

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:
