TODAY: Much of the day will be partly sunny. A fast moving and weak clipper system will pass through this evening and overnight. Snow showers will break out by early afternoon in Western Maryland and the rest of the region by evening. The high: 43. Temperatures will fall into the 30s during the evening.

TONIGHT: Snow showers will continue through midnight, but will end before 4a.m. A coating to 1" is expected in most spots. Western Maryland can expect 1"-3" by Saturday morning.

SATURDAY: Any morning clouds will break up for sunshine. It's cold and windy with highs in the upper 20s to near 30. Winds will gust to around 20mph.

SUNDAY: We'll watch another weak clipper pass through Saturday night and early Sunday morning for a round of light snow. The afternoon will be partly sunny. High 37.

MONDAY (Martin Luther King Jr. Day): Partly sunny and a bit milder with a high in the mid 40s.

TUESDAY: An Arctic cold front brings in colder air with a high near 30.

WEDNESDAY: It's partly sunny and even colder with daytime highs in the mid 20s and lows in the low teens.

THURSDAY: Sun and clouds. Still cold with a high of 24.
