TODAY: Bitter cold and dangerous wind chills. It will become sunny, but highs will only be in the upper teens to low 20s south. Wind chills will be in the single digits 5 below zero at times. The warmest part of the day will be in the afternoon with wind chills in the single digits.
TONIGHT: Clear and frigid with lows in the single digits making it the coldest night in nearly 5 years.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and not quite as cold with a high around 32.
SUNDAY: We watch a low pressure from the west bring a chance of a light wintry mix to a few showers as temperatures rise above freezing into the mid to upper 30s.
MONDAY: Rain will change to a brief period of snow as Arctic air moves in behind a strong cold front. The high will be in the morning with temperatures falling into the 30s in the afternoon. Overnight lows will challenge records with lows below zero.
TUESDAY: The polar vortex brings in true Arctic air with a high barely reaching the teens. Wind chills will make it feel below zero.
WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny and still well below average. The high 24.
THURSDAY: We watch our next weak weather maker that brings a chance for a few snow showers. High 32.
