Our next winter storm will be moving through the area from Wednesday Night into Thursday, and here is what we expect:

  • Snow will develop between 9:00 PM and Midnight on Wednesday Night
  • Snow will be at it’s heaviest from near midnight into Thursday Morning
  • Snow will wind down as we get into Thursday Night
  • The snow that does fall, will be a heavy, wet snow, which will accumulate fast, and cause major travel issues and could also bring down tree limbs and power lines

Expected Snowfall Accumulation:

Most of the area Along and to the East of Interstate 81 is looking at anywhere from 6 inches to 12 inches of snow.

Our western zones, including Garrett County could see 3 inches to 6 inches of snow.

This snow will be a heavy, wet snow. In addition, we will have winds gusting upwards of 25 MPH during this period, which once again, we will be re-visiting the potential of power outages due to the weight of the snow on the power lines and/or trees or tree branches coming down.
