Winter Weather Alert: The National Weather Service has issued the following winter weather alerts for the region in advance of the snow on the way for Thursday & Friday Morning...

Winter Weather Advisory from 12:00 PM Thursday - 12:00 AM Friday for the following counties:

In Pennsylvania: Adams, Bedford, Franklin, Fulton and Somerset

There is the potential that more counties will need to be added into the Winter Weather Advisory late tonight or Thursday Morning.

Wind Chill Advisories from 7:00 PM Thursday - 12:00 PM Friday

Snow will overspread the area from Thursday Afternoon and Evening and will last into Early Friday Morning before ending. A light accumulation of snow is forecast, with most areas seeing 1 to 3 inches of snow before this system ends, with 3-6 inches of snow possible in the higher elevations.  Behind this system, we will see some brutally cold air, with Wind Chills in the single digits for most people, and anywhere from 15 to 20 degrees below zero possible in the Wind Chill Advisory area.

Once this system leaves the area, we will see more chances for rain and snow late in the weekend and through the beginning of next week, followed by another blast of arctic air, bringing even colder weather for Tuesday of next week with some of the coldest air this region has seen in at least 5 years.
